Brampton – Police Officers from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested the suspect in a Brampton Mall assault investigation.
On Monday, October 23, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the victim, a 23-year-old woman from Brampton, was present at a shopping mall in the area of Queen Street and Central Park Drive in Brampton. The victim was approached by the suspect, who accused her of filming him. The victim attempted to walk away, and when the suspect approached her again, slapped her phone out of her hand and assaulted her. The victim suffered minor injuries.
On Friday, December 8, 2023, investigators located and arrested a 14-year-old youth from Brampton in relation to this incident. He is charged with Assault and will appear in Brampton Court at a later date.
Investigators extend their appreciation for the public’s assistance identifying the youth.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and therefore, the identities of the Young Persons charged in this investigation are protected.
